Day 1 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Calgary

Upon your arrival in Calgary, pick up your rental car and head to your hotel. Welcome to Canada! Your Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains just started! Overnight accommodation in Calgary.

 

Day 2 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Calgary - Lake Louise (187km)

Start your Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains by touring Banff National Park. Visit Bow Falls, Minnewanka Valley and don't forget to take the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Later on, drive to Lake Louise. Discover the beauty of Johnston Canyon in the Bow Valley scenic road and go for a walk through Louise and Moraine lakes. Overnight accommodation in Lake Louise.

 

Day 3 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Lake Louise-Saskatchewan (104km)

Visit Yoho National Park, whose main highlights are Takkakaw and Wapta Falls, Emerald Lake and the Kicking Horse Natural Bridge,created with the erosion of the cliffs by Kicking Horse river. Continue on your Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains through the Icefields Parkway. As you move forward, you will find Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, Peyto Lake and Mistaya Canyon. Day 4 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Saskatchewan-Jasper National Park (147 km)

The next stop of your Fly & Drive British Columbia & Ricky Mountains will be the Columbia Icefields, where we recommend you take the Ice Explorer to the Athabasca Glacier. Later on, Sunwapta and Athabasca Falls will surprise you and, before you arrive to Jasper village, you will see the stunning Mount Edith Cavell. Overnight accommodation in Jasper.

 

Day 5 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Jasper National Park

Start the day enjoying the views over Athabasca Valley from Jasper Skytram. Thereafter, your Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains will lead you to Maligne Valley, where we recommend you take a rowing boat ride on Maligne Lake to the Spirit Island. In this same area you will also have the opportunity to see the mysterious Medicine Lake and you will be amazed by the Maligne Canyon, one of the most spectacular gorges in the Canadian Rockies. Day 6 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Jasper-Burns Lake (595 km)

Today your Fly & Drive will take you to British Columbia through Highway 16. On the way, we recommend you visit Fort St. James, on the edge of Stuart Lake. Don't forget taking mosquito repellent if you wanna enjoy the views! Overnight accommodation in Burns Lake.

 

Day 7 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Burns Lake - Prince Rupert (500 km)

Finally, you will get to the Pacific Coast. On your way there, we recommend you visit Ksan Historical Village and Museum, a typical First Nations village in Hazelton. Overnight accommodation in Prince Rupert.

 

Day 8 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Khutzeymateen.

Today you will visit Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, one of the greatest moments of your Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains. Early in the morning, you will meet Greg in the port of Prince Rupert. By seaplane, you will fly over the mountains that surround Prince Rupert. Then, a zodiac will take you into the heart of a fjord, looking for grizzly bears. In the afternoon, you may see whales on your way back to Prince Rupert. Overnight accommodation in Prince Rupert.

 

Day 9 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Prince Rupert-Port Hardy

You will board the ferry at daybreak. This is one of the quietest days of your Fly & Drive. Devote your time to relaxing. You may also see whales and orcas during the crossing, as well as dolphins and bald eagles. Overnight accommodation in Port Hardy.

 

Day 10 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Port Hardy-Campbell River (232 km)

Today we recommend you book an exciting whale and/or bear watching tour by Johnston Strait, one of the best places in British Columbia to see orcas, grizzly bears, brown bears and spirit bears, also known as Kermode bears. Overnight accommodation in Campbell River.

 

Day 11  Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Campbell River - Tofino/Ucluelet (270 km)

Your Fly & Drive will take you to Pacific Rim National Park. On your way, it is worth stopping by the rainforest at Cathedral Groove, in McMillan Provincial Park. Here you can stroll through a network of trails under the shadow of towering ancient Douglas-fir trees, majestic pillars untouched by the modern world – some more than 800 years old. Don't forget to use mosquito repellent! Overnight accommodation in Tofino or Ucluelet.

 

Day 12 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Pacific Rim National Park

Begin your day enjoying a bear watching tour through the Clayoquout sound. Later on, you can also book a whale watching tour, during which you will have the opportunity to see different species of whales, sea lions and also, you may be able to see bald eagles. In the afternoon we suggest you go on a walk to see Ucluelet cliffs or the large beaches of Pacific Rim. Overnight accommodation in Tofino or Ucluelet.

 

Day 13 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Tofino/Ucluelet - Victoria (316 km)

Your Fly & Drive will take you to Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia and whose British influence is reflected in the double-deck buses, horse-drawn carriages, gardens and  tearooms. Overnight accommodation in Victoria.

 

Day 14 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Victoria - Vancouver (110 km)

We recommend you visit Burchart Gardens and resume your trip by heading to Vancouver. To make it easier for you to go from one place to another, we recommend that you take the sightseeing bus. Don't miss Stanley Park, Gastown, Robson Str. and English Bay beach. Overnight accommodation in Vancouver.

 

Day 15 Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains: Vancouver airport

It is the last day of your Fly & Drive British Columbia & Rocky Mountains. We recommend you arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to your flight departure. Remember to return the car with a full tank of gas and in the same conditions the rental company delivered it to you. Your journey has come to an end. Flight night.

Minimum age for car rental is 21.

A minimum of one year valid driver's license from country of origin must be presented at time of rental.

The driver must also present an International driver's license issued in the same jurisdiction.
