Iceland Grand Circle Tour.Tundra TravelSpecial offer!

The duration of this tour is 12 days and 11 nights. You will stay 9 nights at different hotels while in the countryside and 2 nights in Reykjavík. It includes two days in west Iceland. It is possible to extend your stay in Reykjavík if you wish.

Iceland Grand Circle Tour.

Day 1 Iceland Tour.
Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer from international airport not included)

 

Day 2 Iceland Tour.
Drive to Þingvellir National Park, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament.  Continue to the famous Geysir hot-spring area and don’t miss the mighty Gullfoss waterfall.
Optional: Whitewater rafting in the Geyser area, ATV-quad biking in Haukadalur.

 

Day 3 Iceland Tour.
Drive along the spectacular south coast, viewing high¬lights such as Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss water¬falls, Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Dyrhólaey* and the black sands of Vík. Continue towards Kirkjubæjarklaustur, a picturesque village and former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent.
Optional: Snow scooter tour on Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Boat tour from Vík, Skógar folk museum.

 

Day 4 Iceland Tour.
Visit the beautiful Skaftafell National Park nestling between glaciers with various hiking possibilities. Continue to the shimmering icebergs of Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon.
Optional: Boat tour on Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, glacier hike in Skaftafell area.

 

Day 5 Iceland Tour.
Drive through the spectacular East Fjords with towering mountains and charming fishing villages to the fertile Egilsstaðir area.  You have the possibility to take a boat tour to Papey Island where thousands of puffins nest in the summer or visit the famous stone collection of Petra at Stöðvarfjörður.
Optional: Boat tour to Papey Island, Petra’s stone collection.

 

Day 6 Iceland Tour.
Travel across Möðrudalsöræfi highlands to Dettifoss, the mightiest waterfall in Europe. Explore the impressive horse¬shoe-shaped Ásbyrgi canyon in Jökulsárgljúfur National Park before continuing to the fishing port Húsavík.
Optional: Whale watching from Húsavík.

 

Day 7 Iceland Tour.
Explore the highlights of Lake Mývatn and surrounding area with unique attractions such as Dimmuborgir, the pseudo craters at Skútustaðir, the colourful sulfurous slopes of Náma¬skarð and Krafla volcanic area.  Make a stop to admire Goðafoss waterfall before continue to the town of Akureyri.

 

Day 8 Iceland Tour.
Spend the day exploring Akureyri the capital of the North and its surrounding area.

Optional: Visit to Hrísey island.

 

Day 9 Iceland Tour.
Travel to the horse-breeding valley of Skagafjörður fjord, continue to the shores of Húnaflói bay, an area with a great deal of history. Optional: Whitewater river rafting in Skagafjörður, horse riding in Skagafjörður.


Day 10 Iceland Tour.
Explore Dalir, the region of Eric the Red, before driving to Snæfellsnes peninsula with countless wonders such as the rocky beach of Djúpalónssandur and Arnarstapi sea cliffs.  Continue to the Borgarfjörður area.

 

Day 11 Iceland Tour.
In Borgarfjörður visit the beautiful Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, Reykholt and the hot spring Deildar¬tunguhver.  Continue via Hvalfjörður fjord to Reykjavík. Possibility to visit the Blue Lagoon, head back to Reykjavik.
Optional: Bathing in the Blue Lagoon.


Day 12 Iceland Tour.
Departure (transfer not included).

No corráis riesgos innecesarios cerca de cascadas, ríos o fuentes termales. Mantened siempre una distancia segura y conducid con prudencia.

No circuléis en solitario y con vehículos de alquiler por caminos donde podáis encontraros con ríos sin puentes.

La Carretera Nacional Circular cuenta con 1.340 km y da la vuelta por completo a la isla. Las carreteras secundarias os llevarán hasta los fiordos y las penínsulas.

Si decidís realizar una caminata, explorar un glaciar o las Tierras Altas, informad siempre previamente de vuestros planes.

Conducir por fuera de las carreteras está totalmente prohibido. La vegetación subártica necesita muchos años para desarrollarse y los vehículos la destruyen fácil y rápidamente.

El tiempo en Islandia es muy variable. Llevad siempre en vuestra mochila una prenda de abrigo, una impermeable y otra más ligera.
