Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express Tundra Travel

A 8-day Fly & Drive to the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It starts in Edmonton and ends in Calgary. It includes the National Parks of the Canadian Rockies: Jasper, Yoho and Banff. You can also take the same tour the other way around or starting and ending in Calgary.

Day 1 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express.

Upon your arrival in Edmonton, pick up your car and head to your hotel. Devote the rest of the day to visiting Edmonton, also known as the River City. Welcome to Alberta! Your Fly & Drive just started! Overnight accommodation in Edmonton.

 

Day 2 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express: Jasper.

Early in the morning your Fly & Drive will take you to Jasper National Park. Located in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Jasper is one of Canada’s oldest and largest national parks. With nearly 1000km of trails, thousands of campsites, wildlife beyond measure and the second largest Dark Sky Preserve on the planet, there are endless ways to enjoy the magic of Jasper National Park. Day 3 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express: Jasper.

Start the day enjoying the views over Athabasca Valley from Jasper Skytram. Thereafter, your Fly & Drive will lead you to Maligne Valley, where we recommend you take a rowing boat ride on Maligne Lake to the Spirit Island. In this same area you will also have the opportunity to see the mysterious Medicine Lake and you will be amazed by the Maligne Canyon, one of the most spectacular gorges in the Canadian Rockies. Day 4 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express: Icefields Parkway.

Your Fly & Drive will head south through the Icefields Parkway, an unique scenic road that everybody should drive at least once in their live. To travel the Icefields Parkway is to experience one of Canada's national treasures and most rewarding destinations. Stretching 232km (144mi.) through the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, this world-class journey offers access to a vast wilderness of pristine mountain lakes, ancient glaciers and broad sweeping valleys. Day 5 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express: Lake Louise.

Continue your Fly & Drive to Banff National Park. As you move forward, you will find Mistaya Canyon, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake and Crowfoot Glacier. You will finally get to Lake Louise, amongst its most popular highlights you will find lakes Louise and Moraine. Weather permitting, we also recommend you hiking to Plain of Six Glaciers and Lake Agnes, where you will be able to enjoy a delicious tea on the shores of Lake Agnes. Together with Mirror Lake and Lake Louise, these lakes are often referred to as the "Lakes in the Clouds". Overnight accommodation in Lake Louise.

 

Day 6 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express: Banff.

Devote the morning to visiting Yoho National Park, amongst whose main highlights  you will find Wapta and Takkakaw Falls, the latter being one of the highest waterfalls in Canada. Later on, your Fly & Drive will take you to Banff town site through the Bow Valley scenic road. On your way, we recommend you visit Johnson Canyon. Once in Banff, don't miss Bow Falls and The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, a National Historical Site designated also a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Overnight accommodation in Banff.

 

Day 7 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express: Calgary Airport.

Devote your morning to visiting Minnewanka valley, whose name means "Lake of the Water Spirit" in Nakoda. There, we recommend you go for a walk through the Minnewanka loop and enjoy a quite boat ride on Minnewanka lake. Later on, your Fly & Drive will take you to the Calgary Airport. Remember to return the car with a full tank of gas and in the same conditions the rental company delivered it to you. Check in your luggage, go through security check and get on the plane back home. Day 8 Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express: Arrival in your home country.

Arrival in your home country. End of your Fly & Drive Canadian Rocky Mountains Express and end of our services.

Minimum age for car rental is 21.

A minimum of one year valid driver's license from country of origin must be presented at time of rental.

The driver must also present an International driver's license issued in the same jurisdiction.

The driver must also present 2 credit cards to be able to rent a car.

The driver must also present  a passport valid for at least 6 months after entering the country.

All drivers under the age of 25 will be subject to a surcharge of 25 CAD$ per day, subject to change.

Certain car classes may not be available to drivers under age 25.

Certain locations and classes of car require 3 forms of identification as a condition to rent a car.

Wildlife and nice weather conditions are not guaranteed.
